The Queen of All the Gypsies
The queen of all the Gypsies
Mrs Rosie Lee
Is sitting in her caravan
reading cups of tea
Uncle Ebenezer
with his ouija board
is waiting in the corner
waiting for the word
Gaze in to my crystal ball
tell me what you see
there's lots of people in there
but none of them is me
and the foreman in the factory
is into palmistry
and doctor rab mackenzie
is for phrenology
the mystics on the mountain
all say the world must end
The lonely young musician
tries to find a friend
Gaze in to my crystal ball
tell me what you see
there's lots of people in there
but none of them is me
walking granite edges
heard the white gulls scream
saw the sea below him
green as a dream
and she was beckoning to him
from her salty bed
the sea is calloing to me
I'll go to her he said
stepped out into giddy space
flew down to the sea
this shell I'm wearing broken
I'll let the bird go free
gaze into the crystal ball
tell us what you see
I see the bold atlantic
i see the greening sea
i see gthe white birds gliding
i see the young man fall
i see nothing, nothing
i see nothing...
nothing in my crytsal ball
Gaze in to my crystal ball
tell me what you see
there's lots of people in there
but none of them is me
The queen of all the Gypsies
Mrs Rosie Lee
still sitting in her caravan
still reading cups of tea
