A Bubble or Two

My mother stepped into a rowing boat
And kicked a hole in the side
The rowing boat began to sink
And floated away on the tide
O rowing boat come back to me
I didn't want that to happen
But all I could see was a bubble or two
And the water around it lapping

When I got home and I kicked off my boots
Dad said, "Where's my wife?"
"Mummy went out in a rowing boat."
Dad said, "Well, that's life.
Did she tell you all of her troubles?"
I said, "No, she just blew a few bubbles."
Daddy went out in the rain
I never saw him again
